unit 306 and unit #406: at the time of inspection, the hard wire smoke detectors in these unit were painted over (306) or disabled (406). restore/repair. reminder: all smoke detectors inside the units must be tested on a regular basis and all batteries / backup batteries replaced annually to maintain a working and functional devices. advise occupants not to disconnect the batteries or remove (unplug) the hard-wired units inside the apartments or from public areas. central alarm systems / panels (if equipped) are required to be tested and certified annually. certification must be posted on the panel. the central alarm system had recently been serviced on 11.26.18 by pacific auxillary fire.

unit #406: at the time of inspection, the inspector noted a disabled smoke alarm and damaged ceilings with damaged lath and plaster, and areas of exposed lath at the ceiling. repair/replace to ensure smooth cleanable surfaces. additionally a damaged carpet with excessive soiling and spills was noted throughout. loose and wrinklered sections were noted that constitute a tripping hazard. repair/replace. this room constitutes a possible health hazard due to the intense smell of urine and refuse present and a referral is being made to dph. additoinaly repairs may be needed to ensure a habitable living space.
